At First Methodist Church, we take seriously the spiritual formation of all its members. Therefore, we offer nursery and Sunday-School for people of all ages no matter where you are in your spiritual life. Guests are encouraged to become engaged in a Sunday-School class to learn more about the Bible and how is applies to life in fellowship with other Christians. Sunday-School hour is from 10:15 to 11:00 every Sunday.
Nursery – Ages: Infant to Five Years Old
Nursery is located on the preschool hall, just on the other side of Wesley Hall. Our trained nursery staff offer quality care for our youngest disciples from 8:45am until the conclusion of worship on Sunday mornings following the 11:15 am service. We ask parents to supply diapers and wipes and any snacks your child would like during their time in the nursery. Parents/Guardians are responsible for dropping off and picking up children from the nursery room.
Matthew 19: 14 “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Preschool Sunday School Class
Our youngest disciples, ages 3 through Pre-Kindergarten are encouraged to join our Preschool Sunday School class in the upstairs New Education Building. We use the ThinkOrange curriculum that helps move children to love God by inciting wonder, to love life by provoking discovery, and to love others by fueling passion. Each week they have a Bible story and fun craft that teaches a theme for each month. A memory verse is also included each month and a take-home sheet is given so parents can review what is being taught at home.

Elementary Sunday School Class
We now have two classes, a Kindergarten – Grade 2 class and Grades 3 – 5 class. We meet in the blue room in the New Education Building for snacks and music time. The older group then moves to the tan room when it is time for the lesson and activity. Our goal is to help our young disciples learn about what God has done, is doing, and will continue to do in the world and in their lives. Memory verses are used along with the ThinkOrange curriculum to teach them how to hide God’s Word in their hearts to guide their choices, help them build strong relationships, and develop a deeper faith in God.

Youth Sunday School Class
This group, Grades 6 – 8, meets in the Youth room for relationship building and diving into God’s word and learning together how we can apply it to life us. We have a team of leaders that use the ThinkOrange curriculum. This is special in that it focuses on not only the teaching of God’s Word at church but in the home as well. Our lessons use Scripture as the key to figure out how to deal with everyday problems for our teenagers, such as dealing with changes in our families, comparing ourselves with others, making sure that God is our compass and many other topics. We then share the lessons with parents so that they can follow up and keep the conversation going at home.
